May 29, 2006

KISS' official web site, KissOnline.com, has posted a photo of KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons attending this past Saturday's (May 27) Indianapolis 500 parade. According to a posting on the site, Gene was well-received from the crowd of more than 300,000 as he waved and joked along the two-mile parade route. He joined other celebrities and VIPs, including seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, NBA star Carmelo Anthony, TV personality Pat O'Brien, the 33 starting drivers of the 90th Indianapolis 500, spectacular floats, marching bands and entertainment groups, giant inflatable balloons, costumed characters and special featured guest, Lt. General Russel L. Honoré, who attended as part of a special tribute to the military. A WTHR TV report, featuring a brief interview with Simmons conducted the day before the parade, can be viewed at this location.
